ABOUT KING CARDOZA STUDIO
US: Although we both worked at a leading makeup artistry brand at the time, we were first introduced at The Leucadian. It didn’t take long for us to become more than friends, but family. With the shared goal of a new adventure and evolving creatively, King Cardoza Studio was born. Together we laugh a lot, usually at ourselves. We share an addiction to buffalo sauce and we both dream about Brad Pitt in “Legends of the Fall”. With our combined backgrounds in artistry facilitation and business management, we couldn’t be more thankful for this adventure that we have found ourselves in
KING: I grew up in San Diego as a tom-boy- shooting guns, surfing and skateboarding. My love for art and my creative nature drew me to makeup when I was 17 years old. I have worked with a leading makeup artistry brand for over 12 years; beginning my professional makeup career as an artist and for the last 6 years, as the Trainer for the San Diego region. That adventure has taken me to NYFW, and allowed me to be a part of numerous memorable celebrity stylings. When I am not working, you will find me at the beach or skateboarding with my dogs. I love a strong Americano, and I prefer it if it’s lumberjack style with no sugar or cream. I like pineapples and I am eternally in love with music, particularly Pink Floyd. With creativity as my passion, I’ve found my true calling with makeup as my medium, where the collaborative process is what keeps me stimulated.
CARDOZA: I am a wife, a mama of two, and a farmer in the making. I have been in the makeup industry for 13 years, beginning my career fresh out of high school. My passion for makeup allowed me to pursue my craft. While discovering my ability to manage others, I worked my way up the corporate ladder and found myself running one of the largest makeup flagship stores on the West Coast. Two kids later, I decided to return to my passion of hands on artistry. I spend my time raising my two gremlins, and I am fortunate enough to feed my creative side through continuing my craft of artistry. In my spare time, I make bread, and grow as many things as I can in my backyard garden!
