These Grooms Fully Embraced a Safari-Chic Wedding at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park has hosted many a wedding. But Christopher and Mark’s nuptials could be considered ahead of the pack. The San Francisco–based couple went whole hog on embracing their safari-chic theme, donning black tuxes with cheetah-print ties and sneakers.

Equally wild were the groomsmen in animal-print ties, while the groomswomen dressed as an animal of their choice—cheetahs, flamingos, zebras, and leopards, all present. Fittingly, the event’s drag queen MC, Candi Shell, performed “Circle of Life” just before everyone flooded the dance floor to show off their party-animal sides.

The festivities ran late into the night, with all 160 guests basking in the glow of marquees reading “C&M,” “Love Is Love,” and “Besame Mucho”—the same sign Christopher and Mark were engaged in front of at Coachella four years prior. The translation: Kiss me a lot.

Party Animals

As for the party favors, the newlyweds doled out Barnum’s Animals crackers and animal finger puppets.
