These High School Sweethearts (And Parents!) Brought the Party to Palm Springs

Whoever has questioned whether parents can party has never met Nicole and Jimmy.

These high school sweethearts, with a three-year-old and 15 years together already behind them, decided to say “I do” in front of 162 of their closest family and friends at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs.

The big day was a perfect balance of the bride and groom’s personalities.

Exhibit A: Jimmy is a professional skateboarder, so they created a “skate to your seat” seating chart, with guests’ names written on miniature skateboards.

Exhibit B: Nicole was as stylish as can be (she used to work at Anthropologie), and she’s also a wedding planner herself. “All of the details had meaning,” she says. “I wanted to design it from the heart and have it represent our lives. I chose a pop of yellow to have a happy color for a happy day.”

Indeed, everyone was all smiles. The first dance ended with guests clapping and dancing alongside the newlyweds, and, after the father-daughter dance, the bride shot dollar bills across the crowd with a money gun.

Finally, when “Buy U a Drank” by T-Pain blasted through the speakers, in lieu of a Champagne toast, Nicole and Jimmy passed shots around the room. “The goal was to have guests leaving saying, ‘Ain’t no party like a Jimmy and Nicole party,’” the Mrs. reflects. “And that we accomplished.”

We’ll raise a shot glass to that!
