Wedding Inspiration: Garden Party? More Like Greenhouse Party!

Don’t be fooled. This isn’t your classic garden party wedding. It’s, in fact, a greenhouse wedding, masterfully coordinated by Southern House Events. This modern-meets-colorful scene was brought to fruition at The Nursery by Southwinds in Irvine, California.

The experiential theme begins with the invitation suite: a greenhouse-shaped invite by The Lettered J. Hand-painted, watercolor plants and a thin layer of vellum present wedding details in a darling calligraphied font.

Consistent with the theme of abundant nature, the wooden tabletops are layered with sea glass plates, industrial gold flatware, and copper elements in the form of birds. And the place settings are perfected to a T, thanks to Sundrop Vintage Rentals’ sourcing: hand-braided placemats, crisp linen napkins, and coarsely cut terra-cotta place cards. Large, brightly colored florals, in purple, yellow, pink, and orange, top off the table.

Decorating for the ceremony proved a walk in the garden, as a greenhouse wedding already supplies much of the couple’s backdrop. Industrial black chairs, courtesy of Found Rentals, stand out against organic garden arrangements, lining the aisle to make guests feel like they’re in an overgrown greenhouse.

The groom dresses in tune to the vibrant florals. Donning a rose-pink suit by Friar Tux, he pulls out all the stops layering on a blue floral print tie and industrial gold wedding band by Honey Jewelry Co. As not to clash, the bride stuns in modern gown, with a dramatic beaded waterfall back, from Here Comes the Bride.
