To wed in Southern California or to wed in Seattle? That was Amanda and Chris’s question. “We struggled choosing between Seattle’s wine country and Santa Barbara,” Amanda says. “Ultimately, we decided a destination wedding weekend in one of our favorite places would be the most special.” (We can’t blame her. After all, the weather in Santa Barbara is top-notch!)
“Our Seattle family was thrilled to travel, as none of them had been to Santa Barbara before.” Both Amanda and Chris work at the historic Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, where they met 10 years ago. With the help of some industry friends (and Instagram to view and vet vendors from afar), the couple hired an all-star team for their big day over 1,000 miles away.
The outdoor courtyard at Villa & Vine in downtown Santa Barbara showcased an incredible sunset and views of the iconic Arlington Theatre. Amber-toned lights and a surprise karaoke tribute from one of the bride’s friends kept guests on the dance floor throughout the night.
And what could be more magical than that, you might ask? The bliss carried itself into the next day when their photographer offered to meet for a post-wedding beach shoot so as not to miss special time with friends and family on the big day. How sweet!
