Alanna fell victim to the ultimate fakeout when her and Jeremy’s “mock” photo shoot (supposedly to help their photographer friend boost his profile) turned into a real one. “I turned around and Jeremy was on one knee,” Alanna recalls. “Obviously I started bawling my eyes out.” After she said yes, her sister and brother-in-law popped out from behind a tree to join them in celebrating.
The leadup to the enagement hadn’t all been picture-perfect. Jeremy had been friends with Alanna’s brother first, long before they started dating, so he respectfully wanted a thumbs-up before asking her out. “It took Jeremy two times to ask my brother permission to date me,” Alanna says, “but he finally was told yes, and the rest is history.”
Fittingly, their wedding at Leo Carrillo Ranch was a family affair to the fullest. Alanna’s dad officiated the ceremony and the wedding party entered the reception with unforgettable dance moves and football tackles; and of course, there were plenty of photos to capture the candid moments forever.
“Every sentence uttered was so true to us as a couple,” says Alanna about the ceremony, officiated by her father.
“Don’t take planning too seriously or get too stressed out. This is something you will only do once. Enjoy it!”
