To have and to hold, in sickness and in… sloshball? Kent and Sarah first locked eyes over the kickball-inspired drinking game, and the rest of their love story was bases loaded with countless dates in and around Balboa Park—until Kent kicked a home run with a proposal on Cabrillo Bridge.
The couple landed on Sacred Mountain in Julian as their semi-destination wedding location. The big day was chock-full of personal touches—Sarah’s grandmother’s 1958 wedding dress on display, tables named after places the couple visited together, and 1,000 paper cranes folded by Sarah’s mother and aunt as part of a Japanese tradition to bring good luck and happiness.
For the dinner menu, Buona Forchetta hauled one of their giant golden ovens all the way up the mountain for the pizza-loving bride—she’s so obsessed, in fact, that Kent surprised her with a wedding cake custom-made to resemble a Costco pizza box. Now that’s a slice of true love.
