Consider ‘May Gray’ Embraced at This Temecula Wedding

If you’ve ever wondered what friends are for, just ask Juliana’s childhood pal, Lauren—who set Juliana up with her husband’s best friend, Christopher. The two met, sipped martinis, bonded over Scattergories, and the rest was history!

For their springtime wedding at Galway Downs, they opted for an unseasonal color scheme. “I wanted the look to be a ‘moody May,’ with darker-than-normal spring colors and florals,” the bride explains. The result was beautiful as can be and lent itself to several sweet memories.

Queen set the mood with “Somebody to Love” for Juliana’s walk down the aisle, and made an encore performance for the first dance with “You’re My Best Friend.” “We practiced for months,” Juliana says. “We even had a dance teacher we saw twice a week.” Don’t stop them now!

Out-of-the-Box Ideas

The couple hammered a box shut at the ceremony to be opened on their first anniversary. Its contents? A bottle of wine and their written vows.

Juliana’s mom put together party favors celebrating the newlyweds’ last name—salt and pepper shakers shaped like peas that read “Two Pells in a Pod.”

“We made it a point to have a quick 10 minutes to ourselves in private immediately after the ceremony.”
