Pretty in pink? How about drop dead gorgeous in pink!
This color between white and red has long been discarded as just for girls. Women and brides—and grooms!—have endless ways to embrace the hue in the most mature of ways on their wedding day.
Hey, it resembles love, compassion, and care, and all are a framework for a healthy marriage.
As part of our “Color Me Pretty” wedding gown shoot, honing in on five particular color schemes for a wedding at Callaway Winery, we’ve created a few new riffs on how to run wild with this sometimes traditional color palette (looking at you, pastel bridesmaid dresses).
For starters, fabric. Yes, like that Rue de Seine’s “Nahla” floral gown, but also on our tablescape, styled below a sky of pale pink textiles and atop flowery linens from BBJ Linen. The tablewares, courtesy of Borrowed Blu and Catalog Atelier, pull out every which color from the cloth and floral centerpieces by Soiree Floral Design physically bring it to life.
Our other looks—Costarellos’s “Chloris” gown and Badgley Mischka “Carina” gown—take us back to our drop-dead gorgeous beginning.
Low necklines, high slits, and a netted bodice. Now, that’s a mature spin on stereotypically innocent color palette!
