The bride’s entry song said it all. She walked down the aisle to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years”—fitting considering she’s known her beau for what seems like that long. Andy and Devina met in high school. His first move? A classic. He passed her a note in class, and the rest is history, and their wedding full circle. They tied the knot at Millennium Biltmore Los Angeles and in the same ballroom as their high school prom, which they’d attended 10 years earlier. The bride’s big white ball gown, adorned with intricate pearls, crystals, and embroidery added even more nostalgia to the couple’s big day. Not to mention it was handmade by her family’s favorite designer, Karma Gyalpo. “Executing an out-of-country process was not easy,” Devina says, noting she never even had a fitting. All of the planning for their Los Angeles wedding was done over the phone, and her designer sent progress pictures and videos. Talk about trust in the process!
The high school sweethearts’ secret to lasting love? “Never take each other for granted,” Devina says. “Always appreciate and respect each other. Remember the good old days and be willing to compromise.”
The couple was first drawn to an outdoor venue, but later decided a winter wedding would be better indoors. “We started to search for ballroom venues when Millennium Biltmore Los Angeles crossed our mind,” Devina says. “It was the place that we had our high school prom 10 years ago, so we decided to tie the knot in the same place.”
