Alpacas, a beautifully lit marquee, a rooftop venue, what more could a bride and groom ask for? A photographer, of course, to capture it all—and that’s just what Shewanders did in this stunning space that brings an entirely new meaning to the word “public.”
The InterContinental San Diego is a downtown waterfront hotel, sure to take your breath away. Despite the incredible views, simple decor at the altar ensures all eyes will be on you. Two wooden frames shadow the bride and groom with vibrant, diagonally strung floral arrangements.
Organic Elements used bright red, yellow, orange, green, and white tones to play up the playfulness. Each place setting mirrors this vibe and is adorned with a uniquely blue-dyed triangle menu, spotted orange hibiscus, and gold utensils. The wooden “love” marquee and dainty green accent leaves pop against the hotel’s sleek and reflective structure.
Need we underscore how well Bliss Events, the coordinator of this style shoot, perfectly fused tradition and modernity? The bride’s soft 1920s curls, the classic white trolley! A combination of bold florals paired with the groom’s funky checkered tie and bride’s tulle, glistening gown. This wedding feels familiar while also fresh and new.
The InterContinental’s lack of privacy may be a point of concern for some. But hey, when you say “I do” it’s meant for just you two, no matter the venue.
