From Facebook Colleagues to Planning a Napa Valley Wedding

It wasn’t entirely “like” at first sight for these Facebook colleagues. Jessica and Tom were both assigned to work in Building 16 at the social media empire’s campus, but it took a few rounds of small talk before Tom actually worked up the courage to take their status from “friends” to “in a relationship.” Jessica politely declined his first pass—could you blame her for saying no to a pirate-themed pub crawl first date? The second time he got it right: dinner over a bottle of 2012 Benovia pinot noir, which uncorked their shared love for wine and, eventually, each other. The couple embarked on many more tastings thereafter, and Tom even popped the question on a vino-filled vacation in Livermore. It should then come as no surprise that they wed in Napa Valley, at Solage Calistoga resort. The weekend-long affair began with a welcome party at their favorite winery, Davis Estates, followed by their big day with a “West Coast cool” flair, then brunch in Indian Springs Resort’s barn and rose garden to cap off their relationship status upgrade to “married.”

The arbor at the end of the aisle—akin to an Instagram post—hinted toward the couple’s beginnings at Facebook, Instagram’s parent company.

With “West Coast cool” their desired theme, Jessica and Tom incorporated geometric details, acrylic signage, laid-back florals into their ceremony.

A smorgasbord of sugary treats and an espresso bar kept guests dancing all through the night, even into a candlelit after-party at Solbar, Solage Calistoga’s restaurant.
