They say fate brings lovers together. And for Jeanette and Steven, that fate came in the form of a Facebook hacker—five years after their first date. You see, the duo met in college and after one date decided to call it quits.

Five years later, both a little more mature, Steven had to send his contacts a mass message to explain his Facebook account was hacked. The only person to respond? Jeanette!

Second time’s the charm because, after agreeing to meet up, Jeanette and Steven say they instantly fell in love. “Funny how much someone can change in five years,” Jeanette says.

As for their “I dos,” they booked La Valencia Hotel for its colonial Spanish structure and unbeatable location. The bride’s mom put plenty of personal touches on the big day, from creating the flower arrangement for the seating chart to fashioning the table cards to a stunning bird cage.

Those details combined with the emotional moments made for her best day ever, she says. “My favorite part was walking down the aisle and watching my husband about to cry.” Fate brings lovers together, indeed!
