When Dan and Marilyn first stepped foot on the rooftop of L’Auberge Del Mar, they knew they had found “the one”—the venue, that is.
The color palette for their ceremony at nearby Seagrove Park skewed navy to play off the natural ocean backdrop, with an abundance of greenery and white florals to add to the ambience.
But what took the cake was Marilyn’s “something old”—her father’s vintage Fiat Jolly that carried them away. “He brought it down to the venue on a flatbed trailer,” Marilyn says. “It was originally my grandfather’s car, and my sister used it at her wedding, so it had kind of become our family tradition.” As they pulled away from the park in the bright coral ride—decked out with a “Just Married” sign, of course—the newlyweds found themselves amid an entourage of friendly drivers honking in congratulation. “Before we knew it, we had what seemed like every driver in Del Mar celebrating with us!”
Bubbly Ever After
Guests were greeted with a glass of Champagne as their escort card for the reception.
Unforgettable Views
“The time during cocktail hour when it was just the two of us on the cliff overlooking the ocean, our photographers had us stop and close our eyes to just soak in the moment. It is a memory that will stay with us forever.”
They couldn’t have planned their first dance more perfectly, swaying together on L’Auberge Del Mar’s rooftop right as the sun set.
