Although Brittany and Shane now live in Portland, there was no doubt they would celebrate their wedding in Southern California. After all, it’s where both of their families and friends live. It’s also where they first met (on a Tinder date) and realized quickly that they lived just a few minutes apart and had a number of mutual friends in common.
Thanks to its peaceful views and stunning barrel room, Ponte Winery in Temecula was the idyllic venue for the couple’s elegant wedding.
“We wanted to keep our wedding relatively simple and focus on the beauty of Ponte itself,” Brittany says. “We focused on flowers as our main source of décor, because the barrels [in the Barrel Room] themselves made the space so beautiful. We didn’t want to to take away from that.”
For those impressive florals, the couple looked to Lisa Montecinos of Tre Fiori Floral Studio prep the arrangements incorporating pastel pink, yellow, and white roses. Not only did the petals add a romantic touch to an already beautiful setting (hello, ceremony by the pond!) they also helped harken to another special moment in the couple’s love story—their engagement.
Before the settling down in Portland, Brittany and Shane traveled to Nashville to see if the Music City was calling their name. “We went to Centennial Park to discuss all that we had seen and our thoughts on moving to Nashville. While standing near a beautiful Dogwood tree, I turned around to see Shane on one knee with tears in his eyes.”
Much like the proposal, and Brittany’s emphatic “YES!,” she says the big day happened in the blink of an eye. After months of planning and traveling back and forth between Oregon and Southern California, the new Mrs. attests: “It goes so quickly. I know every bride would agree. I would love to go back and watch the entire day like a fly on the wall.”
