Andy and Melanie’s Urban Liberty Station Wedding

By Victoria Gonzalez

Great Lakes transplants—he from Michigan and she from New York—Andy and Melanie clicked in Los Angeles after meeting each other for the first time on the dating site PlentyOfFish.

When it came to planning their big day, there was no doubt it would be a Southern California soirée. “With most friends and family coming from all over the US as well as abroad, it was a destination wedding,” says Melanie, who planned the affair remotely from LA for Liberty Station’s Building 177 (with an invaluable assist from Bliss Events).

“The best part about the wedding was spending time with friends and family we don’t get to see all that often,” she adds.

With downtown San Diego as the focal point, The US Grant, Harbor Island, and Liberty Station were all pit stops during the occasion. But for the bride, of course, the aisle was her favorite destination of the weekend. “My favorite moment was getting to the end and standing next to my husband.”

Just goes to show that, sure, there’s plenty of fish in the sea—but only one soul mate for Andy and Melanie.
