Alexandra and Patrick’s Chic Country Club Wedding

As cliché as it may seem, Alexandra and Patrick’s first encounter was love at first sight, at an LA dance party. “Two days later we had our first date and actually closed down the restaurant, forcing the lovely waitstaff to stay on for an extra hour or two,” Patrick says.

Their big day at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Solana Beach was just like a fairy tale, “every aspect steeped in magic.” Soft purple hues speckled the relaxed and elegant affair, when all eyes were on Alexandra and her Bhldn gown fit for a princess.

“Handling such an undertaking together really brought us closer, and we found joy in making it our own,” Patrick remembers of the wedding planning then unabashedly adds, “Also the cake. The cake tasting was the best part.” (Alexandra, a designer for the Getty Museum, also designed all of the printed materials for the wedding.)

And while exchanging vows or having their first dance may be the most special moment for many newlyweds, for these two, it was a dose of dairy that made the day so sweet. Just after the ceremony they sat alone, shared a plate of cheese, and really looked at each other for the first time as husband and wife.
