After years of crushing on him since middle school, Laura mustered the courage to make the first move—she asked Joe to her high school’s winter formal. Many years later, they reunited in the Bay Area and picked up where the formal left off. Then, before Laura knew it, it was finally Joe’s turn to make a move. “He proposed to me in front of our friends at Golden Gate Park,” she says. “Joe requested we play Telestrations, a drawing and guessing game, and he had previously filled out one of the drawing pads with a story of us and the proposal.” Against the backdrop of Orfila Vineyards in Escondido, their wedding harkened to their San Diego beginning by way of a photo from that first dance featured in the wedding guest book.
Dough It Right
