Cody & Jess’s Personalized Downtown Wedding

Cody and Jess’s love story has gone from coast to coast. A college encounter in the Big Apple made them inseparable; they later moved to Tampa, then Boston, and eventually settled in Los Angeles, but opted to exchange their vows just down the 5 in a more relaxed downtown—at San Diego’s Luce Loft. With design and event marketing experience to her name, Jess dreamt up many of the personal elements for the wedding day from scratch. Neon signs illuminated their favorite movie quotes (e.g. “Did we just become best friends?”), a balloon installation by Stars Above Balloons draped above the altar, and guests enjoyed temporary tattoos and coconuts embossed with a G—the first letter of the newlyweds’ last name. “From beginning to end, this day was unreal,” Jess says. “The best part was seeing my vision come to life.

“Almost everyone who attended came from the East Coast, making this an extra special event—a destination wedding of sorts.”
