Bianca and Jake began as high school classmates, then best friends.
“That is my best and only piece of love advice,” says Bianca, meaning “being friends, first and foremost.”
For her and Jake, that comradely devotion withstood separation during college—she attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and he the United States Coast Guard Academy—and ultimately brought them back together in San Diego, where fate took the rest away as they began to date.
Four years of lust turning love later, Jake planned a romantic proposal and dinner at their home. After an evening of celebrating and toasting to their future, the pair called their families with the happy news and then the wedding planning presumed.
With the fall season in mind, the couple set a date at Twin Oaks House & Garden Estate in San Marcos for its intimate garden setting, complemented beautifully by a color palette of of lilacs and violet in the the florals and bridesmaid dresses—the groomsmen attire aligned with the groom, clad in his Coast Guard whites.
Just before sunset, Bianca—donning a Bellasposa Bridal dress—walked down the outdoor aisle to Elvis Presley croons and at the gazebo-turned-altar, they said their “I do’s.”
As an additional nod to Jake’s military roots, the couple sliced their cake with a sword. Their only regret from the big day? Bianca says, “Sharing my piece of cake!”
