A college internship in Michigan was the golden ticket not only for Matt and Thamar’s résumés, but also their future. It started with a few shy encounters and quickly turned to forever after, when at a company picnic he stole a soccer ball from her—and then stole her heart. Eventually, he followed one of University of Michigan’s oldest legends, that if you kiss a girl under an arch on campus at midnight before you turn 21, you will marry her. But Matt did one better: proposing to Thamar at midnight instead. He got a kiss and a yes. Their Temecula wedding honored both of their cultures, with Thamar and her bridesmaids donning traditional Indian garb, and Matt and his groomsmen dapper in suits and ties. Then samosas, donuts, and Indian music were just the beginning of a celebratory night.
Maroon accentuated their decor, as spots of color in their lenghas, bracelets, florals, and ties.
Traditions Turned Chic
Thamar wore a traditional Indian wedding gown in ivory and her bridesmaids donned lenghas, while Matt and his groomsmen wore the typical suits and ties.
