Lauren and Matthew have been singing the same song from the start, when Lauren’s older sister introduced the two. Following their engagement and a surprise engagement party, the couple stayed true to their nontraditional tune when planning their wedding. They opted for a “pop-up” ceremony during cocktail hour, when they surprised guests by having their siblings read letters they’d written to their past, present, and future selves. The newlyweds also substituted a first dance with a “first karaoke.” From there, the music played late into the night and then some—guests were sent home with a “greatest wedding hits” mixtape specially curated by the couple. Bravo!

Homages to the couple’s cat, Pumpkin, were everywhere—from trading cards in hedges to table names.
“Plan a day that reflects you. People always say that, but then they get caught up in formalities. Be authentically you. It’s your day—it can simply be fun!”
