The couple, who calls Kansas City home, returned to their Southern California roots to tie the knot. They got married at the Mission Basilica in San Juan Capistrano, where Erika grew up and went to grade school. “Being able to marry my best friend in such a meaningful place was just amazing,” she says. For the reception, they opted for a seaside boho-chic celebration at Ocean Institute in Dana Point. Guests were greeted with steel drums, specialty cocktails, and beer poured from custom taps, while a selfie station, cigar lounge, and plenty of dancing entertained loved ones far into the night.
Surf’s Up
The seating chart was hand painted on the bride and groom’s family surfboards.
A Night to Remember
“The reception was our favorite part—great music, cocktails, and just dancing and having fun with all of our favorite people. It was a night I wish I could replay over and over again.”
“When things get stressful, remember you are getting to marry your best friend, and that is what this entire process is for.”
