Nicole and Sarah had friends rooting for them to say “I do” even before the two said “Hello.” After several missed opportunities to meet, they finally locked eyes one summer during a lake house party. Soon after, they had their first date at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, the same place that years later, Nicole would surprise Sarah with a scrapbook of special photos from their many adventures together and a symbol for more to come—a ring. Handmade succulent centerpieces, library cards as escort cards, and mariachis leading the way from the chapel to the cocktail hour in Liberty Station were the perfect whimsical touches for the brides’ long-awaited day for “I do.”
All Aboard
The newlyweds turned to the picture-perfect Old Town Trolley tour buses to transport their wedding party and guests.
The best surprise, the brides say, was seeing one another in their dresses—and being relieved they didn’t clash!
