Alex and Gina’s Rooftop San Diego Wedding

Alex and Gina didn’t expect to meet the loves of their life over a pool table at a dive bar. But their first encounter was far from behind the eight ball. Well, with the exception of Gina being on a date with someone else.

“Alex had come up to start talking to me when the date I was with told him to ‘back off,'” she recalls. “That was the last time I spoke to him and from then on out it was Alex and I.”

After some time as best friends, with plenty of exploring San Diego together and many late night phone calls during Alex’s Naval assignment in Mayport, Florida, they realized how special they were to one another. From that point forward, Gina says that thanks to those phone calls, “Even when he was away, we were together.”

Their rooftop wedding at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina was a timeless affair, with an emphasis on the couple’s families. Alex and Gina chose a simple theme of black, white, and champagne, allowing the backdrop of the San Diego Bay to shine.

As it goes, Alex and Gina weren’t the only ones calling the shots over the pool table those many moons ago—Cupid was, too!
