Leaving the nest is a big step for anyone, but unbeknownst to Bridget and Molly, move-in day their freshmen year at Indiana University meant so much more. “We were both tired and sweaty from lugging boxes and mini-fridges up five flights of stairs in 100 degree weather, but I still remember that moment clearly,” Molly recollects on their first encounter. “It may not have been traditional love at first sight, but I definitely knew she was special.”
It was the start of a fun friendship turned romance, as they bonded during late night studying and other shenanigans. After six years of dating, Molly nervously popped the question on a family vacation in Marco Island, Florida. Bridget had been Pinterest-planning their wedding for years, so when it came to choosing a venue, they knew that Twin Oaks House & Garden Estate in San Diego would be the perfect location. The couple faced challenges both large and small, such as finding two wedding dresses that matched but didn’t clash, and converting the “Groom’s Cottage” so that Molly had a space to get ready.
In the end, the day was perfect, with the happy couple dancing to David Bowie and surrounded by their closest family and friends who had flown in from all over the world to celebrate.
