Adriana & Carlos’s Black-Tie Ensenada Wedding

bride in sweetheart gown embracing groom in black tux

Adriana Novelo, 28, and Carlos Morachis, 31, have known each other since they were little kids, but they didn’t start dating until after college in 2012, when they were both back in their Baja California hometown of Ensenada. Adriana says Carlos proposed at “the most romantic vineyard” in Valle de Guadalupe, and the couple began planning their Great Gatsby–inspired black-tie affair. After a Catholic ceremony at Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, their 500 guests were treated to a chamber orchestra during dinner at Estero Beach Hotel/Resort (where the bride is a marketing director), before dessert, dancing, and a spectacular fireworks display overlooking the ocean.

Adriana knew she wanted the Lazaro gown as soon as she tried it on in front of her family, but it was her father who said, “That’s the one.”

“I wanted to celebrate my marriage the way my parents did, at the same ceremony location and reception venue,” Adriana says. “I was very fortunate that the groom was all for it.”
