Nurse-practitioner Kristina Grubb, 28, and William Strong, 36, who works in commercial real estate, went on their first date in July 2014, and immediately kissed their single days goodbye. Will wrote his proposal in the sand at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach, and the Encinitas couple chose a Palm Springs destination wedding, saying “I do” at the Smoke Tree Ranch, which has been a big part of Will’s family traditions for more than 50 years. Each of their 185 guests took home a personalized bottle of vino from a family member’s Santa Ynez winery, and the happy couple took off to Greece for the honeymoon of a lifetime.
White florals were complemented by eucalyptus leaves, enhancing the event’s neutral palette and letting the Palm Springs setting shine.
“I love neutrals and whites,” Kristina says. “The desert palette did not need much else, so we went with that. We added a touch of navy, since it’s Will’s favorite color!”
“My dress, by Katie May, was so fun to wear. I added my own touch with some rhinestone straps,” Kristina says.
