As 2017 draws to a close, there are plenty of pages to reflect on from the last year. And that is meant in literal terms from the EW office because, per the beauty of publishing, we’re able hold the past months’ memories at our fingertips, revisiting them page by page or scroll by scroll.
Here, we’ve pared down our top 10 favorite stories told, inspirational details compiled, and photos shot. In no particular order, these are a few of our favorite things from 2017…
1. Whitney and Nicholas’s Glamorous Palm Springs Winter Wedding
To put it in black and white—just as Whitney and Nick’s wedding colors were—this couple is downright cool. From her edgy engagement ring and fur sash to his suave ’do and the pups to match, we could pore over photos from Whitney and Nick’s big day for hours. Our art director actually had this honor, and we were left challenged to unlock our gaze from the final spread.
2. Wedding Color Inspiration: Copper
While we’re fine to see rustic themes run away in 2017, we’re very happy to see this rustic hue has stuck around. Who knew a metal could shape shift into so many items and renditions?

Ask an event designer to jump, and they will say ‘how high’—this was our takeaway from the three designers who simply slayed these styled shoots.

Gorgeous gowns abound in this rundown of the top 10 dresses for fall. We’re loving the lace and can’t get enough of the lush florals, but what we’re really reveling about is the beautiful backdrop of Fairmont Grand Del Mar.

7. Danielle and Shane’s Bohemian Point Loma Wedding
Danielle and Shane’s magical day was superbly San Diego. Held at The Thursday Club in Point Loma, we fawned over her boho beauty and his will to be quirky—hello floral tie!—as well as the endless beach views.
8. Let Love Run Wild: Romantic Wedding Inspiration
Romance was in the air at the styled shoot at Temecula’s new Galway Downs. Magnolia leaves threaded the facets together perfectly, from the bouquet to the table spread, and even around Laura Marie’s custom fondant cake that did, in truth, look too good to eat.
