Wedding details were the last thing on Meredith’s mind when she said “yes.”
“When I met Nick, I knew that even if we got married at a bus stop, I would be the happiest bride,” she says.
As go-lucky fate would have it, the couple passed up the local transportation for one of San Diego’s finest charms instead: Estancia La Jolla, the quintessential desert-meets-beachside destination.
Adding to the desert and rustic aesthetics, their late-April affair involved succulents, vintage furniture, farm tables, and late-night patio cocktails. Floral arrangements with South African proteas in dusts of blue, bright pink, and yellow brought the seasonal influence of spring.
“The flowers were an awesome hit among guests,” the bride recalls. “By the end of the night (and the end of the tequila bottles) the proteas even made it into the photo booth.”
Photo strips aside, Meredith snagged another keepsake that will keep the big day rooted in her and Nick’s memories for many years to come.
“I also used succulents, which I was able to root afterward,” she says. “They are currently growing strong in our backyard.”
