Morning radio show host Rick Moorten, 48, and stylist, fashion blogger, and hair care line owner Vanessa Balli, 34, said “I do” in March on the very spot where Rick had proposed just a year and a half earlier: at the Moorten Botanical Garden in Palm Springs, which has been in the groom’s family since the 1940s. After four years of a long-distance relationship while Rick worked in Idaho, it was a romantic culmination for the San Diego couple, who then chauffeured their 115 guests to nearby private estate Casa de Monte Vista, for a night of what they called “the 4 Fs: Food, Flowers, Fotos, and Fun.”
Vanessa’s sweet Badgley Mischka heels paired perfectly with the lace and tulle of her ivory strapless Enzoani dress from Here Comes the Bride.
Calligraphy by Four Things Paper decorated the dessert bar, where a delicious assortment of small bites complemented the couple’s citrus cake with Champagne buttercream by Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.
“The setting for our reception was so beautiful and lush that I didn’t want to distract from the surroundings but instead enhance the beauty,” Vanessa says. “I chose soft neutral colors, including peach, blush, gold, and wooden accents.”
