Warren and Amanda had spent many early mornings, days, and evenings running through Balboa Park, and Amanda dreamed of an iconic Balboa Park real wedding. Her dreams came true as the couple wed at the park’s Spreckles Organ Pavilion. The beautiful, historic organ made for a breathtaking backdrop.
As a lifelong fan of the California Tower, Amanda was overjoyed to get the opportunity to climb to the top of the tower for some quiet moments prior to the ceremony.
The wedding was truly a family affair. Warren and Amanda were lead to the ceremony stage simultaneously by the youngest family members carrying homemade signs proclaiming “You have my whole heart, for my whole life.”
The couple chose the Museum of Man in Balboa Park for their reception. Guests were able to enjoy the museum’s exhibits and then a family-style Italian dinner on long farm tables decorated in simple eucalyptus garland, white blooms, and candles.
Guests made their way to their tables after finding their place cards in an authentic library drawer refurbished with genuine Dewey decimal cards. The tables were identified by beautiful tin images of places that have special meaning to Warren and Amanda, such as the first place they met, their childhood homes, stadiums they have cheered their teams on in, shared family spots, and the location he proposed.
The couple ended the night by crossing the beautiful Cabrillo Bridge in a classic car. Their wedding was simple yet made a statement with classic elements and meaningful details.
