Erica and Christopher's Romantic Rancho Santa Fe Real Wedding

The once-in-a-lifetime date of 12/12/12 turned out to be especially auspicious for Christopher Doesburg, 35, and Erica Biehl, 29. The couple had met at Cal State Fullerton, and on that day a suspected gunman caused a campus lockdown. Christopher made Erica feel safe during the experience, and that night she called her mother and said, “I’m going to marry him!” She did just that at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, where the couple, who now live in Orange, celebrated with 102 friends, who ate Chilean sea bass and let mignon, drank beer and wine, and satisfied their sweet tooths with a s’mores bar and selection of SusieCakes.

“I chose the color blush pink because I think there’s something so romantic and elegant about it,” Erica says.

Anne Barge designed Erica’s gorgeous, lacy dress. “I knew it was ‘the one,’” she says. “There were tears, lots of them!”

Erica’s bouquet was soft, feminine, and lush, filled with pinks and greens. To make it extra special, she integrated lace from her mother’s wedding dress and a necklace from her late grandmother.
