Juli and Dave met in 2012 at Bottlecraft in Little Italy during a homebrew bottle share, where they first discovered their mutual love of all things beer-related. They knew they were a winning team when they won a gold medal with the first beer they brewed together: a Cucumber Saison.

The San Diego couple went on to brew many more award winning beers together, and are currently working on brewing a Cabernet Barrel-Aged Tripel as their wedding favor. Combining their love for brewing with their love for dogs, Dave is the founder of Doggie Beer Bones, which makes dog treats from upcycled spent brewing grain, sourced from local San Diego craft breweries.

Juli and Dave chose to do their engagement shoot at some popular North Park brewery spots to celebrate their shared love for the San Diego beer community. (Thank you, North Park Beer Co. and Mike Hess Brewing!)

When we asked Juli what her favorite moment was during their North Park brewery engagement shoot, she shared with us: “It’s hard to pick one moment! I loved how much we laughed the whole time, and how the entire shoot just felt like us getting closer. Suzanne at SheWanders Photography would tell us to do things like, ‘On the count of three, try to say the same food at the same time’ or ‘For the next one, tell Juli something that will make her blush!’. One moment that stood out for Dave was when it started raining, and the clouds looked like the sky seemed to open up and create the perfect light. We had a blast!”
