San Diego residents Benny Rizkallah, 36, and Maggie Syme, 34, knew they had to meet in person when they noticed that their Match.com profiles featured the same photo: each of them at Disneyland wearing a Yoda backpack. A couple of dates later, their relationship went full steam ahead. After getting engaged, they began looking for wedding venues and fell in love with the industrial vibe of San Diego’s New Children’s Museum, the perfect backdrop for their colorful 100-guest ceremony—which included a traditional Arabic blessing from Benny’s grandmother—and reception.
“The New Children’s Museum has this cool, industrial vibe that is a great canvas for anything you could dream up,” Maggie says
“I knew I wanted something colorful and fun, yet a little romantic,” Maggie says. The couple chose Mediterranean blues, light greens, gold, red, and coral to round out their inspired palette.
