Floral designer Leah Winetz, 35, and IT director Matt Bloom, 34, “met the old-fashioned way: online through OK Cupid.” Matt proposed in a courtyard while the two were in Lisbon, and in November 2015, the North Park residents said “I do” in front of 105 guests at San Diego’s East Village Moniker Warehouse—a “blank slate” that allowed them to truly put their mark on the wedding.
“I wanted an outdoor wedding but was afraid of all the El Niño talk,” remembers Leah. “Matt loves the more industrial look, so turning Moniker into a greenhouse was a good compromise.”
Leah loved getting to work with golden yellows and oranges, a fun change for the floral designer. Plus, with the last name Bloom, a botanical theme was all but destined.
“We put so much time and thought into everything,” says Leah, “so one of our favorite moments was watching all of our guests’ reactions when they saw the reception for the first time.”
