Jillian Hunter, 29, “immediately noticed the good-looking man” living next door when she moved into a Pacific Beach apartment complex in 2008. Within a few weeks, that man, 34-year-old Adam Thayer, asked her out, and they’ve been together since. After a surprise Sunset Cliffs beach proposal (followed by a nail appointment that Adam secretly made for Jillian so she could “show off the new bling with confidence”), the outdoor enthusiasts had a casual yet elegant wedding at the botanic garden in Encinitas.
“I love bright colors,” says Jillian, who’s known for favoring corals, pinks, oranges, and yellows. Her favorite hues were featured in everything from the invites to these whimsical boutonnieres.
“We both thrive on nature and the outdoors and loved the casual yet elegant feel of the venue,” says Jillian. “But we also wanted to incorporate some Old Hollywood vintage glam.”
“Garden chic” was the theme of the day, and the couple chose gold as their accent color “to add lots of glitz!
