Today’s Los Angeles real wedding keeps the good times rolling with fun colors, personal details and lots of sass!
Topanga Canyon, just inland from Santa Monica Bay, has been a long adored site for bohemian brides. The eclectic, fun-loving, independent, and straight up organic have all gathered under the historic California oak trees. And this hidden jewel, The 1909, is no different. With two different outdoor spaces and four gorgeous indoor spaces, it has a little bit of everything for any couple. Particularly perfect for today’s eccentric couple Sue & Dana.
Sue & Dana, both musicians, wanted their wedding to have as many personal details as possible. They planned everything together from the venue space, to the florals, and even the getaway car! (a classic Chevy Camaro – to die for) I love how they carried the cozy vibe of The 1909 into their rustic decor and comfortable family-style picnic tables. All while nestled within the trees – perfection.
Perhaps the most special moment of all was their family musical performance at the reception. I know we aren’t all musicians, but if you’re stuck in the classic “band or dj” debate, you could follow Sue & Dana’s lead and create your own band. There isn’t anything much cuter than a flower and a ring bearer strumming their hearts out for your wedding guests.
