Desiree Rosen and Michael Wise, both 30, met when they worked on the same TV show.
After they became acquainted, Desiree invited Michael on a trip to Lake Tahoe with a few friends. Things turned romantic when a snowstorm knocked out the power and the two lit candles and chatted by the fire. Michael proposed in Santa Barbara, where one year earlier the couple rented a boat and found themselves in the middle of a pool of dolphins. “I was over the moon,” Desiree says. The couple threw a vintage garden summer celebration at the Ranch Bernardo Inn for 200 guests.
Magic Tree
An outdoorsy pair, Desiree and Michael tied the knot under a tree adorned with flowers, which symbolized family as “roots” and two people becoming one as they branch out on their own. In her favorite moment, the bride walked down the aisle and saw her friends and family waiting under the decorated tree. “It was like a fairytale. I felt like I was floating,” she says.
Vintage Garden
A garden color palette of rose, burgundy, and green combined with vintage elements in the reception space, as a wood head table, candelabras, and silver trays, created the ethereal atmosphere.
Finding the Dress
Desiree says dress shopping was her favorite part of the wedding planning process. She found her Pronovias gown at a boutique in Woodland Hills. The lace ball gown dress with a V-neckline and stunning train suited her search for a classy and timeless look. “I felt like Grace Kelly,” she says.
The First Selfie
The newlyweds decided to surprise their guests by taking a selfie right after their first kiss.
Close and Personal
“Our guests were seated in a half-circle around us, almost embracing us. It was lovely,” the bride says.
A Floral Fete
The bride’s sister-in-law brought to life the vintage garden theme. She created centerpieces and arranged for candelabras with hurricane glass. A variety of roses dripped out of the garden centerpieces. “The first time I saw that ballroom I was speechless,” says Desiree.
