Trends: 12 Wedding Trends for 2015

What’s hot for your wedding, right this second? We’ve rounded up 12 wedding trends that are topping the charts.

1.  THE CAPELET!

Modesty is so “in,” especially when it means we can accessorize with a capelet like bride Kiley Dardik did (below).  Hers was custom made by a Bergdorf Goodman seamstress using lace from her Oscar de la Renta gown.  Want coverage?  check out bhldn.com, nocolemiller.com, and nordstrom.com

For all you Anthro lovers, the Westfield UTC location of Anthropologie has recently begun offering a bridal registry wit an expanded inventory.  Shop in-store and also enjoy online exclusives…like the mix-and-matcher you are!

3.  BEER PAIRING RECEPTIONS

For craft brew-lovers, the Wild Thyme Company is offering beer pairing menus for catered rehearsal dinners, cocktail hours, and receptions (or even as a dessert bar!).  Pairings can be done per dish or per food station.  This interactive component is built-in entertainment!  thewildthymecompany.com

4.  BOW TIES!

At this Darlington House wedding, each groomsman wore a different colored and patterned bow tie.  Grooms Chris Aker and Brent Wakefield personally made the bow tie escort cards (below).  This means we are officially, unanimously, so done with mustaches.

5.  FOOD-FOCUSED CELEBRATIONS

Remember when everyone was a music snob?  Now we’re all foodies.  But unlike plyaing super hip music at the reception that no one “gets,” hosting a food-centric wedding is something everyone can appreciate.

6.  FLORAL PRINTS ON THE GOWN

Why carry your blooms when you can wear them?  If you’re a flower fanatic, try a printed gown like this one from WHITE by Vera Wang.  “VW351253” gown, $1,498, davidsbridal.com

7.  ROSY DESIGNS FOR ALL

Rose gold is staying strong-and not just for women, but men as well, notes Alex Gilmore of Gilmore Family Jewelers.  “I’m also seeing a lot of delicate and nature-inspired designs.”  Sweet! gilmorefamilyjewelers.com

10.  ACRYLIC LASER-CUT CAKE TOPPERS

One of our favorite local designers, Nichole Rocero of Nic.Roc.Designs, just started making these rad cake toppers. Toppers start at $25; The Roc shop on etsy.com

11.  A PAINTING OF YOUR BOUQUET

Long after the blooms have wilted (‘case you forgot to dry them), cherish a custom watercolor of the flowers you were holding when you met your man at the altar.  Jil Fausner of Lyaered Vintage will turn it around in about one to two weeks.  $100-250, layeredvintage.com
