Rich hues of deep purple and gold, a rustic country setting, and an elegant, almost Baroque-style gown—this Alpine wedding is full of luxurious details.
Desiree and Will met in high school, when his best friend started dating her best friend. The pair instantly struck up a friendship, but two years after high school, Will reached out to Desiree via text and they fell back into their easy and fun rapport that blossomed into a relationship. One year later last July, Will picked a spot at Lake Murray for them to stop and skip rocks on the lake. “As we finished and I turned to continue walking, Will stopped me and then proceeded to get down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My answer was, of course, ‘Yes!'” she says.
They discovered Colibri Ranch, a family property-turned-wedding venue in Alpine, from a neighbor. “We loved the surrounding ‘woodsy’ feel and the separate grassy ceremony area, as well as the rustic reception area,” Desiree says. “However, after I found my not-so-rustic dress and headpiece at Here Comes the Bride, I knew that I wanted to add a whimsical touch to the venue to tie it all together. I changed my color scheme about five times until I decided on deep purple with accents of varying shades of sea foam green and blue, as well as black and gold.”
