Real Wedding: Kristy & Justin

Nestled in the exclusive Rancho Santa Fe community, The Rancho Valencia Resort provided the perfect backdrop to Kristy and Justin’s nuptials.

The resort’s atmosphere is private and serene, a sharp contrast to our groom Justin’s outgoing and sometimes outlandish personality!

It’s on a rare occasion that I find a groom completely at ease in front of the camera. Let’s face it; most guys simply don’t enjoy the photographic experience. Justin however had no problem being photographed and was up for anything! From photos in the bathtub before the wedding to open displays of affection with his family and friends, to not being afraid to shed a few tears as Kristy walked down the isle, this groom was always himself… genuine, unrehearsed and entertaining!

Working with Merilee Hennings of Ever After Events, both Kristy and Justin wanted their guests to feel they were not at a hotel, but rather at their home. Completely private and void of other resort guests, the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner reception gave everyone a feeling of absolutely privacy. Warm, inviting and comfortable, the Rancho Valencia allowed the guests to feel they were in their very own private villa with plenty room to stretch out and party like rock stars late into the night.

After I finished the edit, my take away was this: The bride and groom were opposites in many ways. Justin was the classic tall, strapping groom; with his bigger than life grin and infectious laugh where as Kristy was the petite and alluring bride with poise, grace and a soft smile. Those opposites attracted and flowed beautifully together as Kristy and Justin created a perfect wedding. Truly what every bride wants… a romantic, heartfelt day, full of fun, laughter, tears of joy and guests that didn’t want to night to end.
