Palm Springs Wedding: Julie & John

Newlyweds Julie and John brought an oasis of blues and pastels to their Palm Springs wedding at the Las Palmas Resort & Spa.

San Diego residents Julie Saksa, 37, and John Pieters, 42, met on Match.com in July 2012. John was the very first person Julie met on the site. On Easter 2013, the couple went on a hike at Torrey Pines. While Julie was distracted by the view, John got down on one knee to pop the question. After almost falling off a cliff with surprise, Julie said yes. The couple’s love of the outdoors made Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in sunny Palm Springs the perfect spot for their wedding. Post-celebration, John whisked away his bride on a surprise 10-day honeymoon to Fiji and Australia. — Anna Goforth
