Stephanie Danner, 33, and Justin Frady, 35, sparked more than just a summer love at Huntington Beach’s U.S. Open of Surfing in August 2011. The two spectators happened to leave the event at the same time and struck a conversation while riding bikes. In February 2013, Justin proposed in a small parklet alongside Newport Bay—a place they call “our spot”—during sunset. Then he whisked her away for a weekender in Laguna Beach—and later, for their honeymoon, to St. Barths. —KELLIE MILLER

Yes to the Dress
Stephanie wore a gown by Enzoani purchased at Mary ME Bridal in the city of Orange. While trying on dresses, the third time was the charm. A fond memory of hers is when her grandmother, who has since passed, asked if she “was saying yes to the dress.”

Vineyard Venue
Giracci Vineyards and Farms in Silverado, Calif., was a perfect fit since Stephanie grew up riding horses and Justin wanted to be outdoors. The barns were lit with beautiful chandeliers and were surrounded by old oak trees wrapped in white lights.

The Groom Likes Blue
To suit Justin’s request for blue, Stephanie chose a color palette that included navy, white, and green (like a calla lily stem).

Natural Glamour
She went for a rustic, yet elegant, look by choosing lanterns, old wooden boxes, mercury candles, and beautiful flowers for the tabletops.

Lights Out
While everyone was dancing and partying the night away, the power blew out. Across the room in the darkness, Justin’s family started singing the chorus of “Sweet Caroline.” Everyone joined in and sang until the lights turned back on.
