Today’s couple went for a fair weather theme that perfectly complemented their San Diego setting.
Courtney and Nathan met during their junior year at Yale University and began dating a year later. When he proposed on Easter morning a few years later, they had plans to go for a walk on the beach, but Nathan couldn’t wait. (“He got so nervous he proposed right in the kitchen of my apartment!” she says.)
They fell in love with the Immaculata at USD. “It is really breathtaking and we both knew instantly it was where we wanted to get married,” she says. “For our reception, we had a lot of out-of-town guests coming in to San Diego and we really wanted to show off the great weather and water.” Their search led them to the Marriott Marquis, which offered a stunning outside location overlooking the marina. They wanted a fun, happy vibe and a color palette that include yellow and grey, so the team at Amorology Weddings helped them brainstorm the theme of “Sunny Days Ahead.” A few of Courtney’s favorite elements? The custom cornhole game, photo booth, and sunglasses that doubled as favors and escort cards. “I love seeing pictures of our friends still wearing the sunglasses today!”
