Real Wedding: Jamie & Will

For a dose of downtown glamour, look no further than today’s real wedding, which brought together Jamie and Will at The Ultimate Skybox, an urban venue with skyline views and city style.

Will and Jamie met in 2011, when she was a receptionist at an insurance company. “Will was my boss,” she says. “Whoops!” They had an instant connection, and what started as friendship soon blossomed into a romance. With her family by her side, he ended up proposing on Easter with a traditional Easter basket, but it took Jamie a second to realize what exactly was in the basket. “I looked up to see my whole family had their eyes focused on me,” she says. “I even said, ‘Why is everyone staring at me?’ I looked back down to the bunny, removed the lid, set aside the fake plastic grass and saw it. There it was—my Easter surprise—a big sparkling diamond ring!”

This being beautiful San Diego, Jamie and Will had plenty of worthy locations to choose from for their big day, from ranches to wineries to parks. In the end, while Jamie got prepped at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, for the ceremony and reception, they chose The Ultimate Skybox, a downtown venue that boasts skyline, bay, and bridge views. “That venue was symbolic of us as individuals and as a couple,” she says. “We love the city where we were both born and raised, and this venue definitely captures the spirit of San Diego!”

Their only request for the wedding was for it to be “fun, fun, fun,” Jamie says. They paid special attention to the music, which meant a hefty dose of 90’s hip-hop, and went for a relaxed, intimate vibe. Check out their elegant urban bash, captured by XOXO Wedding Studio.
