High school romance never faded for Cece Kovalcheck and Frankie Clark, both 27. What started with Frankie’s “lame” pickup line on the first day of ninth grade at USDHS (“Uni”) and a first date at California Pizza Kitchen junior year, developed into a powerful long-distance relationship in college. After sharing post-grad life in NYC, they returned to San Diego three years later, where Frankie got down on one knee during a Seaport Village sunset. Their wedding celebration included a mariachi band and 250 guests chanting “Cecilia” by Simon & Garfunkel, as an ode to the bride.
