An enormous steel-and-glass door welcomes guests to this rustic-yet-modern venue. Inside the barrel room, 160 full barrels of wine set the tone for a unique evening. Solterra specializes in “Spanish tapas with a California twist.” Order the paella and they’ll cook it directly in front of guests. Red, white, and dessert wine is produced on site, and for beer lovers, rest assured, there are local brews on tap. Cost/ Starts at about $4,000 for the barrel room (up to 80 people) Contact/ Christopher Van Alyea, 760.579.2800
“Solterra has an industrial feel and lots of great textures to work with. We played off the metal and incorporated pops of gold. We paired it with softer, romantic elements using purple floral arrangements.” —Liz Cutrano, WED
