Kristin Castelli, 44, moved to San Francisco in 2000 to open a branch of her design company, MG Design. It was during the process of leasing space from an architect firm that Kristin met one of its employees, Justin Martinkovic, 39. The two kept in touch, but it wasn’t until a chance encounter 10 years later that they fell madly in love with each other. For their wedding, Kristin and Justin decided to ditch the hustle and bustle of the city for the serenity of nearby Sonoma. —Elisse Miller

Alone Time
At sunset, the photographer escorted Kristin and Justin into a vineyard to take perfectly lit snapshots. The time away from the party created an intimate moment for the couple, and they could see all their loved ones enjoying themselves below. Justin videotaped the entire escape!
Location, Location, Location
To Kristin and Justin, choosing Sonoma was a no-brainer. “There is just something magical about Sonoma,” Kristin says. “It’s elegant and sophisticated, yet quaint and comfortable. You still feel like you’re off the beaten path, but have access to some of the world’s most amazing food, wine, and scenery.”
Favorite Moment
During the cocktail hour, Kristin glimpsed her parents sharing a quiet moment together in the empty ceremony chairs. They held hands and peered at the surrounding vineyard. “All three of my brothers have been married at least 10 years … I think they never thought they’d see this moment,” Kristin says.
Get This Party Started
The transition from dinner to the reception was a breeze. Three 24-foot-tall windows opened to let guests move from the meal outside to the party inside. When guests moved, Kristin and Justin were already inside, standing by the cake. They cut the cake, cued up the DJ, and danced the night away.
