Why Go
“We wanted somewhere relaxing where we could decompress right after the wedding, yet a place that also had the option for activities should we want them. With hiking, golf, spas, great beaches, and the natural beauty of the island, Kauai had it all!”
The Hotel
The Grand Hyatt Kauai
Best Experience
Sarah and Conor liked being able to explore the island on their own. “During a morning hike from our hotel, we stopped to bodysurf at a small beach and ended up in the waves with wild sea turtles! It was amazing to be on a secluded beach and not on a tour.”
Favorite Activity
The couple took a helicopter tour over “the garden island” and saw the iconic waterfalls (where Jurassic Park was filmed), Waimea Canyon, and the beautiful Na Pali coastline. Fun fact: the Na Pali coast is only accessible by air, foot, or water!
“We loved that so much of Kauai is untouched, privately owned, and naturally preserved!”
GOOD TO KNOW
Best time to visit: Spring and fall both have great weather and fewer crowds. You can also see whales in the spring!
Average temps: 69-85 degrees year-round
Must-pack items: Sturdy hiking shoes and clothes that can get muddy
